According to the Vedic texts, there are 12 Jyotirlingas. All the Jyotirlingas are mentioned in the holy Shiva Purana. The Nageshwara Jyotirlinga Temple is unique compared to other Jyotirlingas due to the angle of the Linga, which is facing the south direction.

The beautiful temple is situated between the island of Bet Dwarka and Gomti Dwarka. The exact location of the temple is on the Saurashtra coast in Gujarat. A huge number of people visit Dwarka from different corners of the world. Since Dwarka is only about 13-14 kilometers from the temple, it is a popular addition to their visit.

The best time to visit the temple is during the winter and autumn seasons. It is not advised to visit in the summer due to extreme heat, which can make the climate unbearable.

The temple is not only famous for its architecture but is also known for its evocative and spiritual history. It is believed that visiting this temple protects devotees from snake bites, poison, and other snake-related threats. In February, the number of visitors significantly increases as a grand celebration is organized during Maha Shivratri. The temple premises provide a sense of relief and protection from all kinds of poison.
