Gandhi in Gujarat

Gujarat today showed the inheritance of Mahatma Gandhi and Sabarmati Ashram at the Republic Day Parade here, featuring the part of the father of the country and his ashram in the Indian freedom struggle. Sabarmati Ashram served as a center for nationalistic activities during the freedom struggle, and numerous national and international leaders visited Gandhi there. The ashram celebrated 100 years of its establishment in 2017. The ‘Dandi March’ by Gandhi had begun from the ashram in 1930.

From the name Porbandar the first thing that strikes the mind is the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. It is also the birthplace of Sudama (companion of Lord Krishna). It is located in the western Indian state of Gujarat along the Arabian Sea. It is a coastal city in Gujarat, India. The city is the administrative center. It has all the modern facilities and is rich in natural resources. Nature’s blessing to this land is its long coastline, rivers, lakes, hills, valleys, fields, ruined fields, and meadows. The Huzoor Palace is a huge structure, sprawling, with a vast garden at the edge of the ocean. The palace has different wings in a crisscross arrangement, with space for various courtyards and back patios, which were used for gardens and fountains. Other places include Daria Rajmahal, Kirti Mandir, Darbargadh Palace, and Manu temple. For birdwatchers, Porbandar is a true paradise. By availing the Gujarat package, you can explore nearby places like Kuchdi, Ghumli, Gope, which is around 30 minutes drive from here.
