Geography

Extends out into the Arabian Sea, with a signal of the wasteland and with a coastline of 1666 kms long is Gujarat – the native state of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of Nation. Gujarat is located on the west coast of India. It is surrounded in the west by the Arabian Sea, in the north-west by Pakistan, in its northern border by Rajasthan, in the east by Madhya Pradesh and in the south and south-east by Maharashtra. The state of Gujarat occupies the north extremity of the western seaboard of India. It has the longest coastline of 1290 kms. A state consists of three geographical regions. The peninsula, typically known as Saurashtra, is basically a hilly tract spread with low mountains. Kutch on the north-east is dry and bumpy and contains the popular Rann (desert) of Kutch, the big Rann in its northern border and the little Rann in the east. The landmass escalating from the Rann of Kutch and the Aravalli Hills to the river Damanganga is, on the whole, a level plain of alluvial soil.

Gujarat loves exclusive geographical features, a long coastline with peaceful beaches, lavish hill stations, unique wildlife, wonderful artistic representations, wonderful celebrations, and much more. All of which provide an exclusive experience to the visitor of this area. With such a background, travel and leisure as an industry has tremendous potential, which the state can tap into to contribute to the already growing economy of the state.
