Best Time To Visit Gir National Park, Gir Climate

The best time to visit Sasan Gir Park is between December and March, which is the winter season. During this time, the temperature is around 20°C, making travel very comfortable. Summers are hot and intolerable, but they are good for photography and wildlife viewing. The rainy season is unsuitable as animals stay in shelters and safaris are not possible. Thus, the park shuts down for the monsoon.

  • Foreign visitors: Entry fee Rs 100.
  • Vehicle fee for safari: Rs 35.
  • Photography fee: Rs 100.
  • Guide service (4 hours): Rs 50.
  • If staying at luxurious resorts like Vanvaso Resort, Asiatic Lion Lodge, or Club Mahindra Resort, the charges may go up to INR 5000 per jeep safari with 6 persons.

How to Reach Gir, Driving Direction by Road, Trains, Flights, Bus / Car

The nearest airport to Gir is the Keshod Airport, which is 90 km away. Another airport is in Rajkot, 140 km from Gir. Both airports are connected to the rest of India with regular flights, and you can hire a cab to reach the forest reserve.
