In the village of Poicha, near Rajpipla in the Narmada District, Gujarat, the Nilkanthdham Swaminarayan Temple is located. This temple was built in 2013 and is associated with Shree Vadtal Swaminarayan. In the evening, the beautiful and attractive lighting decoration provides the most mesmerizing view of the temple. About the Temple of Poicha Swaminarayan Nilkanthdham
Swaminarayan was the person who established many temples in different cities of India. The main attraction of the Swaminarayan Temple in Vadodara is its architecture. The carvings on the temple walls include sculptures and statues of Lord Krishna, depicting various stories like stealing butter (Makhan) and teasing girls carrying pots (matkas).
Temple Architecture
The architecture of the temple is remarkable and creates a peaceful environment for devotees. The paintings inside the temple are stunning and feel realistic, leaving visitors in awe. The temple is adorned with a domed structure and decorated entrances with gold and silver veneers. Separate queue lines for men and women are available for darshan of Nilkanthdham.
The Nilkanthdham Swaminarayan Temple is also illuminated with flowers and lights during festivals like Diwali, Holi, and Krishna Janmashtami. Special presentations during Krishna Janmashtami depict his life, from birth to significant events in his journey.
Timings and Darshan Details
The temple is also referred to as the Poicha Temple and is very clean and well-maintained. The main temple has idols of Lord Vishnu with Sheshnag, Lord Ganesha, Hanumanji, 108 gaumukh, Saptarishi, and the 12 avatars of Vishnu. Visitors can also explore Sahjanand Universe, located across from the main temple. Spread over 24 acres, Sahjanand Universe includes:
- A 151-foot-tall statue of Lord Swaminarayan.
- Over 1,100 idols showcasing Indian culture and Hindu pilgrimage.
- An amusement park, water park, boat rides, a maze, a horror house, and a Yampuri darshan.
- A lights and sound show in 3D, as well as theaters for an immersive experience.
In the evenings, the temple hosts a unique attraction where a giant elephant is depicted pulling the bell with its trunk. The temple becomes exceptionally stunning during the night with its light show.
