About Somnath Temple
Somnath temple is one of the most important pilgrimages and tourist spots of Gujarat. It is the oldest temple, built in Chalukya style. Lakh of devotees come here to worship God. Shree Somnath Temple is first among the twelve Aadi jyotirlings of India. The Pran-Pratistha was done by the president of India Dr.Rajendra Prasad. In Somnath Temple, no mobile, camera, and electronic equipment are allowed in temple premises.
The Somnath temple, located in the Junagarh district of Gujarat, is believed to be the first jyotirlinga among all the jyotirlingas. This beautiful temple is one of the two temples located on the coast of Gujarat. Though the temple is worshipped for Lord Shiva, according to some beliefs, Lord Krishna also visits the temple once in a year.

There are several ways to reach the Somnath temple, with a great population visiting the temple via trains. You can easily find a train to this temple. Apart from this, you can also choose the option of air travel, as the nearest airport is situated in Rajkot.
Best times to visit the temple:
Though there is no specific time at which you can visit the temple, the best time to reach the temple is during the winter season. You can enjoy the journey to the fullest in the winter season. It is not advised to visit during the rainy or summer seasons. Apart from this, people also visit the place for adventure activities. This place is also famous for extreme sports, so you can enjoy the same when visiting.
